Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a Title I school, which is considered highest poverty, our students are in need of many tools to help them build a stronger educational and active foundation. Sports help these students to bridge social gaps and learn without language being a barrier.

Not only are we a Title I school, with many of our students coming from low-income backgrounds, but we also have a large group of immigrant students who are just learning to adapt to American culture.

We want to provide them with the best opportunity and equipment to succeed at whatever they put their minds to.

My Project

So recently, our season started for basketball. We have a modest gym, but it has worked for our last 7 seasons in our middle school basketball league. But tragedy has struck. Our first game is on 12/4/19 and one of rims has broken.

This school year has seen our school budget cut tremendously, at the worst time when we need to replace rims for school use and league use.

WE really need your help from any and all donors. I want our students to have the best equipment possible, but having a rim for our season is most important. This is a gift I want my student-athletes to have most of all.
