My Students

I have the pleasure of teaching over 450 students from diverse backgrounds in grades Kindergarten through fifth grade! Also, we have a wonderful group of students in special education called the Aspire group. The Aspire group contains students in kindergarten through fifth grades who have an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Our school does an amazing job at seamlessly integrating the Aspire students into all subject and encore areas of learning. One of their favorite subjects is Physical Education and I am thrilled to teach them all the new and exciting skills, fitness challenges, and games each week!

My Project

The addition of the Lacrosse sticks to the after school Athletic Club boys and girls team at our school will give the students another opportunity and exposure to team sports at an early age. Lacrosse is a booming middle and high school sport in our area that just became recognized as an official high school sport, yet the elementary schools do not have the equipment to teach the sport.

The Lacrosse sticks would provide me the equipment to build a strong foundation of skills such as throwing, catching, hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, team-building relay races, and team scoring challenges.

These sticks provide the fundamental tools for students to learn to work together while participating in a great team sport.

I would like to bridge that gap and introduce the students to Lacrosse in the hopes that this team sport will further build better student character and that many choose to pursue this sport for exercise and enjoyment!
