My Students

This year in fourth grade we are doing something new! I have a wonderful classroom of 23 students and they are full of energy! My 12 boys and 11 girls definitely keep me on my toes all day long which can be difficult since I just broke my foot (oh no!) These kids are excited and motivated to get the most out of their academic school day.

My primary goal is inspiring my students to develop knowledge in an engaging way to promote life long learners.

Throughout the day I have several different groups of students come into my room. We have collaborated to make sure the kids get exactly what they need by supporting kids by skill level not home rooms. For reading and math different students join my Harry Potter class room and experience a magical learning environment.

In our classroom we work with a lot of individualized small group instruction. My students are learning to use their time efficiently and take responsibility for their own learning.

My Project

I am asking for your support in equipping my classroom with tablets and tablet cases. I will be using these items to increase student understanding in my reading, math, and social studies periods. Online resources are a wonderful way for students to actively apply skills learned in school.

The tablets will help my students to become stronger readers and more creative math thinkers.

Students will be able to practice math fact fluency, interactive problem solving, passage comprehension, and have access to primary news sources. By putting daily access to technology directly into students’ hands we open their worlds to a whole new depth of information.
