My Students

Every morning we begin our day with a chant. I start by saying "ready to rock?" and my scholars reply "let's roll!" The chant motivates our scholars to work hard throughout the day. With the right tools in the classroom, my scholars possibilities are endless.

Our school is located within the heart of the largest urban school district in New Jersey.

When you ask teachers to describe their students we will all sing their praises. My classroom consists of 21 amazingly gifted scholars all different in temperament and personalities with only one thing in common: inner city children whose opportunities for learning and advancing is cut short due to economic situations.

My Project

For this project, I am requesting three Amazon Fire Kid Tablets. The tablets come preloaded with hundreds of apps that gear towards math and literacy. My plan is to have my scholars independently work on the tablets during our Guided Reading time. We are looking forward to exploring education apps for learning and having our scholars explore a new world of reading. Your donations will help our scholars explore a world of learning through technology.

I am confident that with the use of tablets in the classroom, my scholars will increase their literacy and math skills.

The tablets will be utilized during our classroom Guided Reading time. I strongly believe that my scholars will develop an independent learning skill while learning on the tablets. The Amazon Fire Kids tablet comes preloaded with apps that kid friendly and blocks any content that is inappropriate.
