My Students

In my classroom I'm really not sure what a typical day is as we are always doing something new and different.

My students come from very diverse backgrounds and reside in a very urban area of New York.

Every student at our school receives free lunch as well as breakfast in the mornings. We are a public school which focuses on wildlife and environmental education whenever possible. Students in my class partake in environmental science and as well as a wildlife conservation course. In our school we strive to help our students become globally aware citizens.

My Project

I am requesting a Kindle e-reader so that students who finish work early will always have access to a book. Some of my students are more advanced than others so I like to keep things on had that will not only keep them busy but also continue to enhance their education.

This project will help my students to develop a love for reading.

Many of them are more willing to do things when technology is involved. This project will make reading fun to them and it will also allow for multiple books to be read my many students as they can all be kept on the one device.
