My Students

My students are a diverse group of learners that love hands-on activities and technology in the classroom. These 8-9-year-olds impress me every day with their resilience and willingness to adapt to the challenges that they face.

In an evolving, ever-changing world, my students consistently persevere through difficult times and achieve their goals.

Although they come from very different backgrounds, they work together for the common good. I enjoy the family community that we have created in our classroom and would love to take their education to a new level!

My Project

The pandemic of COVID-19 has required teachers to utilize technology like never before. Unfortunately, my classroom is not equipped with a laptop that is adequate for providing instruction to students that will be distance learning. Our district has chosen new platforms to aid in the process, but I lack the technology needed to adequately implement these new educational tools. We will be starting school with a blended learning model and students will be learning from home three days out of each week. Students will benefit from the resources I have requested because I will have the ability to develop and upload daily lessons through schoolwide apps as well as communicate with them through Teams or Zoom meetings. It is crucial for students to receive as much guidance and assistance with their school work as possible through these tough times and that is difficult without adequate technology.

In addition, I would love for my students to have the opportunity to explore engaging activities and projects such as video editing, animation, and virtual field trips through the use of a Macbook while at school.

This laptop would also provide my class with the technology needed to sync with other devices and be available for screen mirroring to facilitate daily instruction. This will enable me to guide my students through their lessons by projecting online components on the board to provide engaging and interactive instruction.

These unprecedented times are going to require flexibility and consistency to ensure success, and funding this project will establish a way for my students to receive quality instruction in and out of the classroom.
