My students come from all over the world, Guatemala, Mexico, Egypt, Africa are to name just a few. They come to with little to no schooling. Because of the lack of education and poverty, they are escaping for a better life here in America.
I help these children adjust to their new lives here and help them learn the English language to be successful in their new classrooms.
My students have no access to technology in their own homes. With our fast paced world I feel it is important to expose them to technology and become tech savvy. My students are some of the most hard working children. They want to learn and I want to give them what they need to be successful.
My Project
Each student can benefit greatly by having the world wide web at their fingertips. Their is so much we can do in our classroom with these English language learners and a tablet in each of their hands. With these requested Samsung Galaxy and Amazon Fire tablets they can download apps, read, look at pictures, sing songs, write, practice speaking English, listen to English speakers, and much more. I want them to be able to use the tablets in a small group setting where learning can take place.
This technology will also prepare them for what's to come.
They will be knowledgeable on how to use tablets and, as they get older it will benefit them in many ways.
