My Students

I teach young students with a variety of exceptional needs. All of which making learning and engagement extremely challenging. Each child in my class enjoys learning but each one learns in a different way. On top of their learning challenges, many of our students come from low-income families. This make it even that much more difficult for them to keep up with their peers and 21st century learning.

My students thrive on active engagement through hands-on activities, being creative, and different modalities to learn new concepts and strengthen current skills.

We currently have flexible seating , small and whole group learning to meet unique needs all students. I am very fortunate and honored to learn from them each and every day.

My Project

A majority of our curriculum can be accessed and supported with the use of technology. By having access to Fire 7 tablets, this will allow my students to work independently at a center and promote academic growth by strengthening skills.

Another benefit of being able to incorporate technology as part of our everyday learning, my students will also be able to participate in STEAM projects and discover new passions and skills.

This will give them a new found commonality with their typical peers, boost their confidence as well as promote those 21st century skills all of our students need to meet the Common Core Standards. I cannot wait to see the growth and progress that my students will make while having the opportunity to incorporate technology in our classroom.
