My Students

My kindergartners are a fun and energetic group of students who are excited about learning. Computers in the classroom would provide my students the opportunity to learn skills that will make them college and career ready. It will also provide me a way to monitor and track student progress easily.

My school is located in Baltimore city.

We are a Title 1 school that serves low-income families. I have a group of 23 kindergartners who love to learn and share what they are doing in and outside of the classroom. They enjoy reading books, playing games, and expressing their thoughts through drawings.

My Project

Technology in the classroom can be used for a variety of activities. It can be used to differentiate instruction, allow students the opportunity to collaborate, provide students with access to unlimited academic and cultural information, and create an effective and efficient home-school connection. With our classrooms becoming ever more diverse, differentiated instruction is an important strategy that classroom teachers must use to meet the needs of their diverse learners. These student accommodations are supported through technology which provides multiple mediums through which students can respond in class, alternative forms of engagement and assessment by which to measure student growth, and an ever growing number of resources to accommodate identified learning disabilities. For supporting diverse learners, there is no substitute for the combination of a knowledgeable teacher and adequate classroom technology.

Computers in the classroom would provide me, as an educator, to effectively differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.

Students could work on skills that they are struggling with through the use of specific applications. Which would better prepare them for the next grade level. Having computers in the classroom will allow the students to acquire skills they need as they move through their academic career, college, and future career.
