I teach at a vocational school in Western Pennsylvania. The shop is Health Assistant. Students learn fundamentals in healthcare, Nurse Aide, Patient care Tech and much more about the art of healthcare. It is a constant goal to improve the appearance of the lab to ensure students are getting the most and are ready for the world of work.
My students come from various backgrounds and situations.
They are very eager to learn and pursue careers in healthcare. Many of the equipment needed to instruct the students comes at a significant cost. All items used will be placed into our clinical lab.
My Project
Currently, the skeleton that we have in our classroom has many missing extremities and structures. This skeleton had been part of the classroom prior to when I began. Part of the students learning requires them to learn structure and function of the human body. One subject that we refer to the skeleton is with the Skeletal System. By having a skeleton that has all of its extremities, this will allow for the students to learn and be able to see where the location of and how the bones connect to each other.
I feel that by having a fully functioning skeleton it can only improve the abilities of the students to learn.
