This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Enrique's Journey books will help show students the theme of human movement for geography. By using specific parts of the book, students will learn how physical geography impacts people both physically, socially, and emotionally.

Students will ideally, see some of themselves in the story and make meaningful connections.

Getting students to engage with a novel that could resonate with them would help add more depth to learning the larger concepts of geography and human geography. Having reading materials that students relate to, see themselves or their families, are powerful resources in the classroom.
