A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach at a high-performing public charter school, and we will begin the school year by teaching remotely. We currently serve grades K-7 and will add one grade level per year until we reach K-8. About 89% of our scholars qualify for free or reduced-rate lunch.
My students are voracious learners who love an academic challenge; they have big personalities and even bigger dreams.
Our school teaches the whole child; by encouraging them to excel academically and instilling the character strengths they will need to be successful. We believe that by giving them the education today, they will be able to change the world tomorrow.
My Project
I am requesting headphones, face masks, chart paper, pencils, erasers, stickers, markers and more my students need to be successful while we are remote, but also help us prepare classrooms for when they come back. During this challenging time, these supplies will help us throughout the year as we begin remote and transition from hybrid models to in-person learning.
The headphones specifically will be helpful for my students as we will have virtual classes, and it can help prevent distractions while working from home.
Additionally, it is incredibly important that we gather supplies for our students, and that we are prepared to welcome them back once it is safe to do so. This is why I requested reusable masks, pencils, and prizes. By donating to my project, you will help ensure that I am able to give my students high-quality instruction whether it is behind a camera or behind a mask. Help me give my students the education they deserve.
