Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Observing students in my Foods classes and watching their selection of snacks is an eye-opener. A constant choice of unhealthy chips and candy is the norm. Our students come from low-income families with free breakfast and lunch programs. Their choice of snacks are cheap chips and candies with little to no nutritional value. This project can change all that. The exposure to healthy snack eating can give the benefits like not being tired in class, better health out-looks and even better test grades. And it's all because of a choice of eating healthier snacks. Instead of chips and candies give them a chance to taste healthy snacks like Healthy Snack Bars, or Break Box Healthy Snacks or the Healthy Box Care Package or the Ultimate Healthy Office Box and the Kind Healthy Box, and more, all produces for Teaching Nutrition Through Healthy Snacking project. Give these students a chance to experience healthier snacking choices. It could make a difference to be a healthy choice for the rest of their lives. And believe me I have junior high students attention when I say 'snack'.
