Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom was deeply affected by the coronavirus. I teach in inner-city Los Angeles and from one day to another, we were out of school and stuck at home!

My young students are eager to learn from home.

It warms my heart to see my students through video, and they are excited to see me too. I want to provide my students with a quality and engaging distance learning education.

My Project

These multicultural books will be used for daily story read alouds through Distance Learning Zoom videos with my students. We will discuss the message of each book. Teaching students that we are all beautiful!

The multicultural crayon sets and markers will be distributed to students at the beginning of the year in take-home supplies/resource bags for distance learning.

At the beginning of the school year, students will participate in social studies lessons to learn about Ruby Bridges, the Civil Rights movement, and theBlack Lives Matter movement. They will learn how to be part of the solution anti-racism.
