My Project

I am requesting a class set of the George Orwell Novel 1984 for my ASB (Associated Student Body) Leadership class. The goals for this project are to expand the Leadership class students' understanding of larger political themes including governance, democracy, campaigning, lobbying, parties, factions, and abuse of power. What makes this class special is they are the Student Council and Leadership students for our entire student body. They are responsible for planning, coordinating and running major school events, as well as participating in major school decisions. As the governing body for the school, they need to expand their understanding of larger governing bodies in our society and the various concerns, issues, matters, etc. surrounding what we call "politics."
