My fourth graders are resilient! They are adjusting to virtual learning in a national pandemic, all while entering a new grade level in September. As their former 3rd grade teacher, I personally know the effort my students put in to achieve their academic goals. I'd love to support my students with reaching their personal academic goals this year by providing support with at home and real-time practice.
My Project
I want to be able to create engaging math and science content for my 4th grade students featuring step by step instruction using movie making technology.
A week before virtual learning started, my district provided laptop crashed.
Due to district budget cuts and limited technology, I’ve been wait-listed to receive technology.
I am required to create content, teach live lessons, and complete other tasks all on one device, which is not very effective for long term use and learning. In addition, during live instruction with my students, an apple Mac Book will eliminate any slow processing, causing frustration for students.
Using the apple movie maker and other advanced apple applications, I will be creating live math & science lessons for students to follow along with me while at home. In addition, they will be recorded and easily updated within minutes so that students will have access to them for reference. One example would be using the movie maker app to demonstrate step by step strategies on double digit multiplication and long division. These are concepts & strategies that students will need to repeatedly access at home, to gain understanding. Having the proper technology to communicate these lessons with my students is paramount to success.
