Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am working in a Title 1 school, that receives limited funds for mostly immigrant children. The students all receive free lunch and some live in shelters. The students are mostly second language learners and I am one of the ENL teachers that works with them in speaking, reading, writing and understanding English.
I am trying to get a Teachers Pay Teachers gift certificate to purchase a guided reading program with reading centers and activities that will help support ENL students.
I also hope to be able to purchase a reading program with multiple reading levels so that I will be able to provide the students with additional reading materials and practice to take home as I do not have much of a classroom library.
