My Students

My students are imaginative and fun-loving kids. They come from low-income households and have not had much experience with the world outside their small community.

Many of my students don't have the ability to learn online and have special needs.

Many depend on hands-on learning and whatever toys they have at home. Despite the hardships they are facing with school being closed, they are eager learners.

My Project

No pandemic will stop me from helping my students learn the skills they need to be successful in life. My special needs students were learning how to be independent and learning new skills like counting, sorting, and identifying shapes before the school closed. Now my dining room is my classroom. Therefore, it is very important that I have the resources to help them grasp the concepts and skills they need to succeed in the next school year.

My low-income students who have special needs will benefit from the sorting mats, and counting cookie jar to keep them engaged during remote learning.

I can use the various materials to create videos to show my students how to sort shapes, colors, and size. The cookie jar will help them learn how to count.
