Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a teacher, and I teach both in a brick and mortar school, as well as virtually. I have to use my own laptop to deliver my lessons to my virtual students. My current laptop is from 2014. It freezes all the time and buffers when I try to show a video or a lesson online.

For example a grammar lesson about adjectives.

I’ll broadcast worksheets and videos in order to help my students understand adjectives. I also teach/ lecture to the students and my computer freezes all the time. I Use YouTube lessons to teach as well, they freeze or buffer all the time.

When this happens the students lose focus and we lose precious teaching time. I have to help them refocus. Then, it happens again.

The battery sounds like an engine revving up and it does not last as long as it should anymore. Due to the fact that I am a single, older, teacher, I do not make enough money to buy a new laptop to continue teaching virtually. Your contribution to my project, which is the purchase of a laptop for use both at school and virtually for my virtual teaching would be greatly appreciated.

I know that with this, my students will be less frustrated which will keep them more focused.

Every time I have an issue with the computer, my students get distracted. So this will help keep them consistently on task. Thank you so much.
