My Students

Hi everyone!

I am a Teacher for students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

This year I will be working at a high school in the Bronx, NY. We are Hearing Education Services program that allows our students who have a hearing loss to work with Teachers for the deaf and ASL interpreters in the classroom.

I love my job and cannot wait to get back into the classroom and see my kids. Although I worked with the school last year, I have yet to meet one single student! All of our students worked remotely until the end of the school year. Some of our students have medical reasons for their stay at home and some are just fearful to get sick or make anyone else in their household sick.

Since we will all be navigating the classroom for the first time again in September I am trying to buy air purifiers for my classroom to keep myself, the students and their families safe! I just hope that I can be a positive force who is keeping our students safe while providing a fulfilling education everyday!

My Project

These Molekule air purifiers are approved by the FDA for medical use and also proven to reduce potential exposure to SARS-CoV-2, the COVID-19 virus. We are living in unprecedented times and the students would benefit greatly from a safe space to learn without the worries we have dealt with in the last year and a half. I am trying my best to keep everyone safe and healthy while providing an enriching learning environment.

No child can learn where they do not feel safe, and it is my mission to provide these students with a space where they can flourish everyday!

We will be able to conduct our science experiments, read and analyze our novels, and have multiple people in the classroom at one time using these purifiers. These students sometimes require not only a teacher for the deaf and an ASL interpreter but also a language interpreter, so there are often multiple adults in the classroom to create successful learning environment. These purifiers will help keep us all safe.
