Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work with affectionate and loving elementary school students. Most of my students have a diagnosis of autism and participate in speech therapy to support their development in speech and language skills.

Students will be using the iPad for a variety of educational activities; some will use the device in order to be trained on how to use a communication device.

Some of my students will engage in software specifically created to improve their speech clarity and others will have access to engaging language lessons.

There are so many amazing apps that help engage students in otherwise "boring" work. An iPad would be an invaluable tool to allow my students to explore different academic tasks. In addition, it will expose the students to technology and applications that would otherwise not be used in their homes due to limited resources.
