Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My students are geniuses and very hands on learning. I teach Engineering Design , Calculus Ap, and Pre-Calculus honors in a Title 1 school. I often have tutoring sessions for college entrance exams for any student in our school. Most of my students have a cell phone, some a school chrome book, or very few have their own computer. Our school is bringing back more and more students every week. Some of my Engineering students elect to also receive college credit for our class.
My Project
This year it is more important for my Pre-Calculus students to understand how trigonometry is used in the world, more importantly in our own neighborhood. Our school is located about thirty minutes from Space X. I would like for my students to build their very own rocket from scratch. So in order for this to happen, each student will need their very own engine and recovery wadding.
Understanding how rockets work, how trigonometry is being applied, and how to work in teams is the goal that I want my students to accomplish.
