Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am writing this proposal for my students who participate in our school musical. Our elementary school serves a large urban area with a high percentage of students from low-income homes. Our student body is culturally diverse, allowing our school community to experience languages and customs from many cultures as we interact daily.

The majority of my students do not have the opportunity to explore and experience high-quality theater arts instruction outside of the school setting.

Seeing them grow in their knowledge and excitement about music brings joy and a sense of accomplishment to our entire school community. Many of our students will continue participating in music at the high school level.

We are writing this proposal for 4 sets of tap shoes. We would love to incorporate some tap dancing into our musical production of Aladdin this year. This will be such a wonderful addition to our show. My students have never experienced tap dancing. Teaching beginning tap dancing technique to our young actors and singers is going to be an experience they will never forget. These are tools that we will use for many years to come.
