Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

When entering my third grade classroom, you can hear a buzz of excitement and the quiet chatter of eager eight year olds ready to learn. My students come to school every day ready to learn and ready to tackle the day ahead of them. Each day, it is our goal to work hard and to learn from one another.

My school is a place where children are encouraged to be themselves while learning to value their education.

Students are encouraged to question the world around them and encouraged to think outside the box. In my school, in my classroom, students are pushed to try their hardest while being able to grow and develop based on their needs. My students work hard each and every single day to combat any personal struggles that they may be facing. My third graders strive for their personal best whether they are working on math problems, trying to progress to the next reading level, or becoming authors during writing workshop. My students try their very best and deserve the very best education has to offer. I believe in my students and most importantly they believe in themselves.

My Project

I have requested three learning materials for my talented third graders. I have requested soft seats. These soft seats will allow my students to sit comfortably while they work hard. Instead of focusing on how uncomfortable they feel in their metal chairs, they can focus on the task at hand while sitting on a soft cushion! I have also requested privacy partitions. My students are WORKERS! In order to help them focus on their work, I am requesting partitions so that there is minimal distraction in a room buzzing with 26 learners. Lastly, I am requesting safety name tags. I love taking my students out on field trips so that they can experience the world around them and see what is outside of their immediate neighborhood. These tags will allow my students to remain safe while traveling around New York.

Working in a low income neighborhood comes with obstacles.

My job as their teacher is not only to teach them but to make sure they are receiving the BEST education possible. Providing my students with these learning materials will help improve their educational experience within my classroom. My students love walking into their classroom each day and would appreciate any donation.
