Help Mrs. Dalton

My program is a Pre-Veterinary Science Program that serves 11th and 12th graders who want to work in the animal health care field. They aspire to be veterinarians, zoologists, or wildlife specialists. Many of my students are from low-income homes. Our aim is twofold: to give college-bound students the necessary background to help achieve a higher degree, and to give workforce-bound students usable skills to obtain a job in a field they enjoy.

A major component of the program is the Senior internship, where a student spends their last semester of classes studying and learning in the animal health care field. They intern at veterinary clinics, aquariums, and grooming businesses. Many of these internship sites require them to apply and interview for the position.

By having a digital camera and quality copy paper, each Senior student could create a portfolio to use in the interview process. They could also use this portfolio after they have graduated and are applying for jobs.

Your help will enable my students to intern at quality sites and receive the best training possible to achieve their goals of working in the animal health care field.
