My Students

My students come from low-Income families that are doing the best they can with providing for their kids. When they buy school clothes and supplies they really have no extra money. Our school gets minimum supplies but not things the teachers need to make learning more fun and exciting. A lot of my students have just been displaced due to Hurricane Harvey and they could use something wonderful in their life right about now not to mention they are an awesome group of kids who deserve so much more than what they get.

My Project

WOW! First of all let me say my students have just went through a terrifying ordeal. #HURRICANE HARVEY has just devastated a lot of their lives. Many of them at their young age has never seen anything like this. So I would love to bring some happiness to them this school year. I believe that giving them a classroom that feels like home will comfort as well as encourage them to want to learn. Taking away the stuffy desk and allowing them to sit wherever learning benefits them the most will let them take ownership of their learning. When students take ownership of their learning it opens up more avenues and possibilities. Learning new things become more exciting and restrictions are limited.
