A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
These are exceptional students but through a series of budgetary cuts, financial limitations, and a general abandonment from the district and state, they are left in the lurch. These kids all strive for excellence and push every day to get better but lack the resources from both the district and their homes to prepare them for 21st-century society.
As a school, we are builders of humans and need the resources in order to do so.
These kids are predominantly English Language Learners in a Title I school that has excellence right at their fingertips. The pandemic has put them behind, but I firmly believe not only can we catch up, but exceed where the kids are supposed to be.
My Project
With the advent of digital learning, how can our students take the traditional English class and transform it to reflect the modern online world? This project will expand on the students' traditional writing by allowing them to transform their written words into fully interactive video experiences. It will use their pandemic social medial skills, and apply them to English class.
They can immerse themselves in their stories and be able to share them across the globe.
With these materials, they can use the skills learned in class to create multimedia pieces of art. They can write songs and record them. They can create plays and act them out. They can compose dialogue and record animated voices. The applications within an English classroom are limitless.
