My Students

Every time you walk past a classroom you may notice that it's dark with students inside. If you've wondered why then you are a technological dinosaur. My school has not yet been able to fund the infusion of Smartboards or projectors for every teacher.

My students are urban youth in Pennsylvania.

They have a true thirst, and desire for learning! As a whole they have met the state minimums on standardized testing for the past 7 years. Throughout the student body we have varying degrees of learners from below basic to gifted students.

My Project

If you decide to fund this projector, I will be able to teach to all learning styles. Some students learn by seeing, others learn by hands on, and some learn by hearing. This technology makes it possible to address all three styles simultaneously. For example, I will be able to show videos to help students better understand figurative language (simile, metaphors, etc.).

Please know that your donation will help urban scholars keep pace with their counterparts in more affluent districts.
