My Students

My students are a group of inquisitive young learners! They are willing to be pushed and enjoy a challenge in the classroom.

They enjoy engaging text and love to discuss new ideas.

Over the course of this year we have built a strong sense of community.

While often times life outside of our school walls can be difficult for them, each of my leaders demonstrates resilience. They show up to school with a positive attitude ready to learn every day.

My Project

Imagine never owning a book, or having access to stories you enjoy reading. For many of us this is unfathomable, however for many of my students it is their reality. For many reasons, some beyond their control, the students that I work with have fallen behind in reading.

It has been said that the best reading intervention is a good

book. These Harry Potter paperback sets will allow me to instruct students using texts that they are interested in and enjoy reading. The aim is to help them to continue to work towards grade level standards while simultaneously helping to instill a love of reading and learning.
