My Project
My students, all boys from kindergarten to 4th grade, are full of energy and curiosity. They simply aren't meant to stay indoors all day! This project seeks to transform an unused playground into a dynamic extension of our Alternative Learning Environment. These boys truly excel when given the freedom to move and learn through hands-on experiences, especially when interacting with nature. By creating this opportunity, we can spark their passion for learning and promote their growth in an inspiring outdoor setting.
Each of my students come from different classrooms, often facing challenges related to social and emotional skills.
I work closely with them, either individually or in small groups, to help them navigate their struggles while maintaining their academic progress. While some students may find certain academic content challenging, I adapt our lessons to meet their needs. This journey can be arduous, and filled with ups and downs, but each step is essential.
This project will provide necessary work areas, comfortable seating, and shaded spaces where my students can engage in explorations, experiments, and assignments. Additionally, they will learn invaluable lessons in hard work and responsibility by actively participating in the maintenance of this outdoor area through planting and nurturing flower beds. Together, we can cultivate not only a beautiful space but also a love for learning that will last a lifetime.
