My Students

My students are diverse. They come from many different backgrounds. This neighborhood has many new immigrants. Our students vary from regular education kids to mainstream kids as well as 12:1 kids.

Our schools motto is "Committed to Excellence." We strive to give our students the best resources we can.

Many of them need hands-on materials and manipulatives so that they can "see" what is happening. Most days we break up into small groups to do mini lessons to review or strengthen concepts.

Our goal is to try our best to help the kids meet their goals!

My Project

Snacks are not only fun treats, they're also essential for a healthy life. My students need snacks because they have a smaller stomach so there's a limit to how much they can have in one sitting. However, they have high energy needs due to an increase in their levels of activity. Also, many of the younger students eat lunch early in the day so by the time school is over, they need a snack to boost their energy levels again. My goal is to provide my younger students with a variety of snacks that they can take home! Healthy snacking leads to healthy choices!
