Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very awesome. They bring a wide variety of skills, abilities and stories into my classroom. We are a Title 1 School located in East Harlem NYC and my students bring diversity to life. They want to do their best and learn for themselves but are often not given the supplies or opportunities to do so.

A quality educational experience will go a long way in ensuring my students will become life long learners and advocate for their future.

My Project

These standing desks will make a difference in my students' learning and improve their school lives because they will be able to focus on the learning at hand. Sometimes students are more focused on "sitting correctly" and can't pay attention to the task because it's physically uncomfortable for them to sit. Standing might allow them to learn how they learn best if they are given the option.

Students eventually need to go into the workforce being able to problem solve, think critically, communicate and collaborate, if students are free to learn these strategies in different means from the traditional way, I think it'll make a big difference.

I have students who cannot sit still and cannnot learn in a traditional classroom setting, these desks will be a game changer for them.
