Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students are in school for a very long period of time everyday. Some students are even occupied during their lunch period to participate in extra-curricular activities, going to teachers for tutoring, volunteer at the library/college office, or make up work for when they are absent.

In their busy schedule of content-packed classes, it is very important for them to take a moment to sit and let their brain rest.

I would like to create a calming corner at the back of the room with a tea/hot chocolate station; where students can take a minute to enjoy a cup of hot beverage to collect themselves and refresh their mind so they can continue learning with a sharp and focus mind.

Students can easily have access to cold milk, sodas, and energy drinks from corner delis or the cafeteria. But having a warm drink in the middle of the school day at the cozy calming corner can provide a sense of belongingness - just like how school is like their second home.
