My Students

I am a kindergarten teacher in a Title I community school.

My classroom is often their first time in school, but now their home is their classroom.

I want them to feel an excitement for learning and to be warm and comfortable and ready to learn! To help me do this I need your help. Over 75% of my students are wrapped in blankets on our Zoom meet due to little heat in the mornings. They are in need of warm and comfortable clothing while they learn from home.

My Project

My classroom library is in Desperate need of replenishing! Teaching remotely last year had many challenges. One of the biggest was supplying my students with Reading and Writing supplies of their own. The Writing was easily taken care of through the generosity of family and friends. The Reading took its toll on my library, 80% of which was personal. I distributed almost all of my classroom's leveled library to my remote class of 23 students so that they would have their own "at home" library. I had "refreshed" their personal libraries 3 times during the school year 2020-21.

Seeing the excitement on their faces when they came to pick up new books was priceless!

Needless to say, my classroom library has dwindled down. I need your help to restock my classroom library shelves with an assortment of both fiction and non-fiction leveled books before this new3 school year begins. I cannot wait to begin the school year 2021-22 INSIDE our 4 walls and I desperately want my classroom to be ready to entertain my student's excitement for what lies beyond the cover of books!
