My Students

I am so lucky to spend my days with an amazing group of second graders that walk into my classroom each day with an eagerness to learn!

My students come to school not only to learn HOW to read, but it is my goal to foster a love of reading in them so they can become life-long readers.

I've learned that the best way to draw curiosity, strike up conversations, lead discussions, and encourage smiles and laughter in my students is through shared experiences on our classroom carpet together. They are so eager to gather on our carpet to share stories and have discussions with their peers. Their excitement to learn is contagious!

My Project

Flexible seating allows students to choose the seat that is most comfortable for their learning style. Most of my students came from full-time distance learning where the sky was the limit for their comfort in learning at home.

I would love for my students to have their own book bins for our classroom and bags to store their reading books and safely transport them back and forth between school and home.

When students have the choice of what books they read and are able to get comfortable in a flexible seat, they are bound to fall in love with reading and be motivated to read!
