Our classroom is full of wonder, excitement, creativity, and challenge. As a special education teacher, all of my students have different needs and a wide range of abilities. For an individual with a developmental disorder, the way the brain processes these experiences can be a major source of distress and discomfort. In some cases, the brain may overreact to these sensory stimuli. Other times, it may not react enough. Having a sensory room near my classroom would allow my students to take a break and reset throughout the day when they need to. The items that I'm requesting would ensure that my students have a room that is filled with different sensory inputs to assist with their motor output. These items range from a Liquid Fusion Activity Play Center (floor tiles with liquid inside) that students can step or push on to different tactile fidget toys to a Floor Music Piano where students can play different sounds.
