Tablets for Translation and STEM Club Pt. 1

Help me give my students tablets to be able to communicate more effectively with Hispanic classmates during the day during class time as well as help with robotics during STEM Club after school.

My Project

I have a team of 120 students that I service for Science and STEM Club. On the team we have 3 tablets to help us with translating lessons and assignments for our Hispanic students. That is one tablet per class, but only 3 of our classes can be supplied at the moment. We are told to not have other students translate for them; each student has to be able to have their own voice and talk for themselves. That is a hard and impossible task with only 3 tablets to help. Yes, when they are in their seats they can use their Chromebooks, if we have enough in class that day, but it doesn't help if we don't have enough Chromebooks that day and it doesn't help when students are walking the halls. To stop in the traffic of the hall to pull out a Chromebook and use it standing up is a lot for any student because they are being bumped into, etc. It's easier to communicate with a smaller device that you can also talk into.

These tablets will also double for the STEM Club, making using the robots a whole lot easier.

We have a variety of over 10 robots but only 3 tablets to use with them. It makes running the robotics unit hard. The battery life of our Chromebooks is not long due to daily use during school hours, but the tablets have longer lasting battery life. I want our students to be able to learn with the proper materials so that they can be prepared.
