Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In the heart of Washington, DC, my students represent the diversity and resiliency that have always made our country great. Within a school that is approximately 52% Latino and 42% Black, my students learn about acceptance and tolerance both from the content in their classes and from one another in our richly diverse community. 100% of the student body at my Title I school qualify for free and reduced price lunch services, and a significant portion also qualify for homelessness services.

My students show me every day that, despite the significant challenges they face, each of them has the capacity to question, challenge and change the world.

With your support and investment, my students can continue to reach their full potential on whatever path they choose. They can enter middle school confident that they are fully prepared to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Finally, my students will be confident that they have access to all of the resources and support that they need, and more importantly, that they deserve.

My Project

Our world is quickly becoming more and more reliant on technology, with an increasing number of careers demanding technical proficiency. My students have the knowledge and creativity to access these opportunities; however, they don't have the consistent exposure to technology necessary to prepare for their futures.

My students deserve high-quality, reliable access to technology to learn in the 21st Century.

Your gift of a class set of tablets and cases will ensure that this is true.

My students are curious, ambitious, and dedicated to success both within and beyond the classroom. They need the tools that will support their learning, so that they have the opportunity to achieve at their highest potential. Your gift will ensure that my students can compete with their peers in a world where proficiency in technology is an essential skill.
