My Students

Help my students create music using 21st century technology.

My school is a school for 100% severe special needs.

All of my students are children who have cognitive delays, learning disabilities, physical challenges, or on the autism spectrum. Nevertheless, although they have challenges, they are the most avid learners I have ever seen. My students have become excellent musicians, and strive to make it to the next level.

My Project

The tablets would be used for both their music making, as well as basic necessary social skills. For music making, students would be able to use applications, websites and tools to help them further enhance their music literacy, singing skills, composing, in addition to adding cross-curricular connections. In addition, the tablets would be used to help with their social skills. As many of my students are non-verbal, providing an alternate form of communication will help them build meaningful connections with their peers.

This project will make a difference because there are many great applications and tools that will further enhance my students.

Moreover, this would help motivate them even more, as technology is an exciting and intricate part of the classroom.
