My Students

I have the privilege of working as my school's Science/STEM teacher. I teach all students from grades K through 5th grade. The majority of these students come from low-income households and the only place that they are being exposed to these types of Science/STEM projects and experiments is in school.

My students walk into my classroom for the day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day.

I am my school's STEM teacher. Students come to me for about 45-50 minutes a day (maybe once or twice a week). I absolutely love seeing my students' faces light up when they walk into the room - thrilled and eager to learn/explore. They know they have a safe environment to explore and try new things.

I love when students stop me in the hallway to ask, "What are we doing next class?" or "I came up with another way to do that experiment." or "I showed my mom how we did our experiment at home!" or when they bring in their own designs that they made at home. They are beaming with pride and it makes me so proud!

My Project

I would like my students to have access to tablets so they can individually code their Dash and Dot robots because these robots can not be coded on a computer. The students can now be hands-on and see their codes come to life when they put the codes into the apps in the tablet so their robots will do what they code it to do.

The students are having fun and learning at the same time with this engaging and interactive learning experience!!

In this day and age, students need to learn the use of technology and understand how it works for future jobs!
