This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My kindergarten classroom is a busy place! I have a wide range of learning abilities in my classroom, and it can be difficult to find engaging activities for students to practice skills independently. Tablets are an engaging way for students to practice math and literacy skills independently.
My students live in a low socioeconomic area, and many of them come to school lacking the necessary skills to be successful in school.
They are excited and energetic about learning, but many of my students need extra instructional support. In our classroom, we spend a significant amount of time working in small groups to provide students with instruction on their level.
My Project
Working in small groups provides more explicit instruction for struggling students, but it can be difficult to find activities for the other students to work on independently. My students will use these tablets to practice math and literacy skills at their instructional level.
My Kindergartners work hard all day, and it is often difficult for them to stay focused on instruction.
These tablets will provide a fun and engaging way for students to continue learning during small group instruction. While students are using the tablets to practice skills independently, I can help the other students during small group instruction.
