My Students

I have thirty-two first graders who love to read in English and Spanish. In our school, ninety percent of the students receive free or reduced-price meals. My students have very diverse backgrounds and come together to form a wonderful community.

My first graders enjoy participating in literacy activities and they are eager writers and readers.

They love creating stories in both languages and learning new math concepts. They are eager scientists and they are always interested in learning and sharing their cultures.

My Project

Students in my class need tablets for reading and math work during class. These tablets will keep students engaged and will help them continue their learning by using applications for reading and spelling as well as math work. Students will benefit greatly from having such fun and engaging materials in front of them. It is important for my students to use these tablets at school in case they do not have internet access at home. Our school has provided us with amazing tools for students to use at home but there might be cases where students can't use them and school is the only place.

These tablets will continue with my vision of having a classroom for the 21st century.
