My Students

The world is a complicated place, and there's a lot of division between people. The performing arts tend to unify people in a way nothing else does.

This is so true!

The Performing Arts bring so many of our students together who would otherwise only see differences among one another when walking down the hallways. This is one of the many unique aspects of Performance Arts and its profound effects on our students in public education. My Performing Arts colleagues and I teach students who are eager learners. They are diverse culturally and socio-economically. Our school is a college preparatory high school in Southern California with a rigorous high-demanding curriculum. Students are expected to rise to the occasion academically despite social and financial obstacles that they may face. Our school is designated low socio-economic status and we are deemed a Title 1 school. The details are what bring our performances together. We already have amazing, hard-working students. What makes our performances in the performing arts department is that our parents and staff go above and beyond to make sure that the small details come together. Tablecloths are a detail that we should not overlook.

My Project

I am requesting tablecloths for my Performing Arts department. Recently, our Instrumental Association built tall tables for our lobby where we hold performances. Now, we need linen tablecloths to cover these amazingly hand-crafted tables.

Having these tablecloths for our lobby tables will help welcome patrons to our performances in a well-organized, aesthetically pleasing way.

The lobby is part of our "first impression" when entering into our performances. Having this portion of our building look nice will reflect positively on all of the hard work that our students have put into the actual content of their shows. It will tie the entire performance together. Help us support our students' performances!
