My Students

Unfolding the joy of, crafting that perfect sentence, or bringing deep insight to your reading, is heightened by sharing it with a group of students and a teacher. Working with a small group helps me to facilitate the individual growth of each student in my class.

I have the honor of teaching a bright and lovely group of students.

They are eager to learn and curious about the world in which we live. Our school is a large, barrier-free school, that serves a diverse group of students. Despite the large size of the school, it seems like a close-knit family! The parent body is involved and helpful. Colleagues work together to build the best possible learning environment for all of our students.

My Project

The addition of a large, curved table, in my classroom would immeasurably help me to work with all of my students. Gathered around this table, they would be able to interact with each other, without disturbing other students. I would be able to clearly see their work and monitor their progress. I would be able to place materials and manipulatives, to further develop concepts; moreover, the students would be able to "play" with these manipulatives, and develop solutions of their own. I would be able to create fluid groups, based on the daily needs of my students, with the least amount of interruption to other students. Additionally, small groups of students would be able to use this table for group work during math and science.

The ability to learn something new every day is awesome.

Having interactive time with other students, and the teacher, in an area of need, boosts learning and recall. My students would benefit from having this table, in the classroom for direct, targeted instruction, and the opportunity to share their work with their peer group.
