Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are eager to learn and take joy in working in an efficient learning environment. Help us equip our library with materials for our students.

Our students are brilliant children that come from challenging backgrounds.

They live in the poorest area of their city, in one of the poorest cities in the United States. They are curious, yet bashful. They are inquisitive, yet lack the confidence to grab hold of the opportunities laid before them. They need nurturing and motivation, as well as a positive environment, where they will feel excited to learn, and have fun while doing so.

My Project

My students need a clean, safe environment to create at the library. The current activities room is supposed to be used to work on arts and crafts, engineering projects, and so on, but it only has bean bags, making it difficult for students to work on makerspace activities on the floor. At the moment, they work on a select few of these projects because there isn't enough floor space for them to utilize all the makerspace activities available. These tables will not only create a more inviting space for students, but it will help them be more productive by helping with organization and creativity. Students will then be able to work on circuit boards, robotics, puzzles, art projects, and many more manual activities.
