My Students

Class size has reached an all time high with as many as 33 students in the Studio Art class. An artist needs their space and by having tabletop easels in the classroom students will have more room to work and have the experience of using an easel.

My students are incredible.

They are highly motivated sixth and seventh graders that create high quality art work and have discovered the joy of painting. My students have a diverse range of skills and many have learned that they really do enjoy art and the process, especially after being exposed to different tools, techniques and artist styles.

My Project

I have seen how tabletop easels positively impact my class and want to create a class set. I have bought 7 easels in the past and because of cost and budget I am seeking donors to make it happen. I see how much students like to use them and the classroom benefits. Students love that they have a professional tool to work on like a traditional painter and it seems to generate another level of pride in the painting process. Also, we have more room to work at our tables and the quality of work is better with less mishaps like spills on their artwork and accidental drips.

We have an amazing art program in our middle school supported by the incredible parents that fund our program and demand art in our schools. I want to continue to grow it in terms of the quality of supplies and the access to resources. I want to go beyond my community to get funds for our art supplies and give students the amazing art experience they deserve.
