This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My amazing students range from 7-11 years old. They are singers, actors, musicians, rappers, poets, authors, scientist and most of all inspiring. Many of them come to school an hour early to participate in the band program. At our school, we pride ourselves on having an amazing music program. Our music teacher was named the GRAMMY Music Educator Award Recipient in 2018!
My school is located in the poorest congressional district in the entire United States.
The projects that you help fund will help my students overcome the struggles they face. Your donation will help bring much-needed resources and supplies to the students at my school.
My students work hard and they love coming to music class. The staff takes pride in what we do. We work together as a family of educators to create the best learning environment for our students. We take care of our belongings because we are very fortunate to have what we have.
My Project
It has been hard to keep students motivated and engaged. So I got to thinking about what would inspire students to turn on their cameras, turn in work, and stay motivated during these tough times. DING I had a breakthrough when I was talking to one of my classes about it and they mentioned how they always love the music shirts I'm wearing.
As an inventive, I'd love to make my students custom shirts and send them a package for being so awesome.
I think this would work wonders for students because they will work hard on their classwork, it will boost attendance, and when they earn a shirt they will want to show it off when they log onto zoom!
