Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These headphones will ensure that my students can complete their assessments, both districtwide and statewide, and schoolwork with more efficiency. As time passes, more assessments and assignments are becoming paperless and more technology-based. It is important for students to explore the technology that is at their disposal and find the ways to use it as a resource. Many resources online for students has some kind of audio for them to listen to. This is to engage them with a variety of senses, which is important to facilitate their learning.

Students work better with less distractive noise, and having headphones can help ensure that they stay focused and engaged.

There are many programs that require some kind of sound to be played to help students practice specific learning skills. In the same way that teachers want to find ways to engage students in lessons and practice specific skills, these programs can help us do that at appropriate times during class. However, if students are all trying to use these technology-based programs with some of their peers not using headphones or earbuds, it becomes a challenge for them to do their work, just like when there is disruptive behavior going on in the classroom. Many of these programs also help prepare students for what the assessments they will eventually take look like. Some of these assessments require students to listen to what is being dictated to them and write their responses, which makes it even more important for students to be able to listen to the audio without any other disruptive noise.

Headphones have become vital for student success in this new-age world revolving around technology.
