My Project

There are students at our schools who aren't drawn to the field or track or court. Well, not the one we may be used to.

Students need a community, and if it wasn't clear before the last few years, it is strikingly clear now: our students need a team.

They need a community where they feel a sense of belonging. Two months ago, we started an Esports team at our high school, and in that time, I got to know a group of students who didn't run the track, or practice after school with a team, but played video games at home, who spend hours practicing but had, for some time, been a team of one. Since then, however, we've become a community. We've met after school for hours to practice. We've trained and talked and learned how to become something new: a team.

Like any sports team, all we need is equipment to compete. Football players need helmets and pads. Basketball players need hoops and balls. We need controllers and screens. We need a virtual court. The equipment listed will help are largest growing teams to complete, removing the limitations that often exists when players are unable to pay high sticker price of technology.

Even just a pair of Switches, a couple of controllers can provide eight players a place to practice, compete, and work together. We have five teams of four who play of three different days durring the week. This equipment will open the door to our nearly fifty players.

Help open the door for our teams. Help them find a home on our esports team. Help our players form a community here on our campus, after such a long time being apart.
