My Project

The Eagle Wings Book Club is in it's sophomore year at my school and our freshman year was stellar. The fervor with which these teens have approached reading has been nothing short of spectacular to witness. Last year they attempted to spread their own love of reading to a local elementary school by donating books to a few students. The project was called Books and Bons Bons as they used Valentine's Day to gift books and candy specially wrapped as Valentine treats.

This year they would like to continue the tradition, this time using Sweetly Spinning Stories as a theme, to give out book packages that include a fidget spinner and a sweet treat.

Everyone knows a reading experience is enhanced by the use of tangible props. The students last year were so excited to receive books, but their faces lit up even more when they were delivered in the form of a special delivery letter. This year, the club wants to use plates to craft a spinning component and make the delivery of the books even more special. The passion these teenagers have to inspire reading through their own eyes is special. Please help my book clubbers continue their tradition of fostering a love for books in young people. Books as Valentine's gifts for students? What is a better occasion to promote a love of reading?
